about us

The Safer Neighbourhood Board (SNB) in Barnet is a community-led board that works in partnership with the police and local authorities to address community safety concerns in the London Borough of Barnet. The SNB comprises residents, community representatives, and councillors who work together to identify and address crime and safety issues in their area.

The SNB is not just a reactive body, but a proactive one. It works closely with the Metropolitan Police Service and the local council to ensure the community's concerns are not just heard, but also addressed. The board takes the lead in developing local strategies and initiatives to improve community safety and prevent crime, providing education and support to young people, promoting community cohesion, and reducing the fear of crime in our community.

Overall, the Safer Neighbourhood Board in Barnet is an essential local resource for community members who want to make their neighbourhoods safer and more secure.

The Board meets a minimum of four times a year and is obliged to hold one public meeting and one Board meeting in public each year.
